Worked at shit jobs for a few years after high school and drank beer. Enrolled at U of Waterloo but dropped out in first year because I got involved in the student paper and finally found my passion. Spent the next 25(ish) years as a reporter, editor and publisher in community papers in SW Ontario and suburban papers in Vancouver.
Am now retired.
School Story:
Foreshadowing my life, I was a 'tweener in high school. I'm class of '76, but after Gr 9 I figured since we only needed 27 of 32 credits (or something like that), I might as well take courses from a year ahead. So after a couple of years I was in more of your classes than my own year's. In my Gr 13 I only needed 2 credits, so lots of time for extracurriculars. Mind by then most of you lot had left so the Lounge got kinda dull.
Shopping for outdoor wear at the big and tall store. g/f rolls her eyes and says she can't take me anywhere, but as I pointed out, I actually drove so she's technically wrong.
g/f does dragonboat racing so I get to see some beautiful locations around the region. Here: Harrison Hot Springs, B.C.

World-famous ice cream, apparently, in Parkgate (NW England, 2012). Tough to see me in my camo so I'm pointing myself out.
